Short description
Store listing → Product details
Blocks ads and trackers quietly — pages keep believing their ads loaded fine, so anti-adblock walls stay closed.

Detailed description

Ghostblock removes ads and trackers at the network layer while keeping the page convinced everything loaded normally. Instead of cancelling ad requests outright — the tell that anti-adblock scripts look for — Ghostblock answers them with a harmless empty response, so onload handlers fire and success checks pass. Ad slots are hidden visually rather than removed from the DOM, so scripts that measure or count their containers still find them exactly where they left them. What you get • Network-level blocking of major ad and tracking domains • No "please disable your ad blocker" interruptions • Ad slots hidden without breaking page layout • A blocked-request counter and a one-click on/off switch • Zero telemetry — no accounts, no analytics, no servers How it works Ghostblock ships a static Manifest V3 declarativeNetRequest rule set. Matching ad and tracker requests are redirected to a bundled empty stub file, which returns a valid response instead of a network error. A content script keeps common ad SDK globals defined and leaves ad containers measurable, so pages that test for a blocker find nothing unusual. Privacy Ghostblock does not collect, transmit or sell any data. It has no servers and makes no network requests of its own. A single on/off preference and a local blocked-request count are stored in your browser and removed when you uninstall.

declarativeNetRequest
Privacy practices → Permission justification
Ghostblock's single purpose is blocking ads and trackers. declarativeNetRequest applies a static filter list bundled in the package to block those requests. The rules are declarative, no request data is read by the extension and nothing leaves the user's device.
storage
Privacy practices → Permission justification
Stores two local values with chrome.storage.local: the user's on/off preference for blocking, and a count of blocked requests shown in the popup. No personal data is stored and nothing is synced or transmitted.
tabs
Privacy practices → Permission justification
Used so the popup can display blocking state for the currently active tab and toggle protection for it. Browsing history is not read, stored or transmitted.
scripting
Privacy practices → Permission justification
Used to run the bundled content script that hides ad containers left behind after a request is blocked. Only code shipped inside the package is executed; no remote code is loaded.
Host permission (<all_urls>)
Privacy practices → Permission justification
Ads and trackers appear on any website, so the blocking rules and the ad-slot hiding content script must be able to run on every site the user visits. The extension does not read, copy, store or transmit page content, form data or credentials.
Remote code use
Privacy practices → Are you using remote code?
Select "No, I am not using remote code". All JavaScript and all filter rules are included in the uploaded package.
Single purpose description
Privacy practices → Single purpose
Ghostblock blocks advertising and tracking requests in the browser. Every permission and every file in the package serves that one purpose.
Data usage disclosures
Privacy practices → Data usage
Leave every data-type checkbox unticked, then tick all three certifications: data is not sold to third parties, is not used for purposes unrelated to the item's single purpose, and is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Ghostblock collects no user data at all.

What gets submissions rejected
- —Broad host permissions trigger manual review — the justification text above must match what the code actually does.
- —The single purpose rule: keep every claim in the description about ad and tracker blocking only.
- —No remotely hosted code or remotely fetched filter lists. Everything ships in the package.
- —The privacy policy URL must be publicly reachable without a login before you submit.
- —Screenshots must show the real extension UI at exactly 1280×800 or 640×400 with no alpha channel.
